I think that this is a great program, but once again reservist get the short end of the stick. Even though the program is now expanding to include more veterans there is still a restriction on financial assistance for reservists. According to the new legislation a reservist has to have serviced 10 years or more in order to qualify. I think that this is absurd apsurd and unjust. We serve our country and make sacrifices just like our active duty counter-parts. I am so tired of reservists getting slighted on benefits and other privelges.

Thank you for the post LaToya. According to John Roth at our National office in Pensacola, FL.
"The new legislation has lowered the Selected Reserve Requirement to having 6 good years instead of 10 to qualify for the financial aid. Participant would need to serve an additional three years to qualify for the financial aid."

Hope this helps!

It is a shame that disabled veterans are not eligible for financial assistance. Because we gave part of our body or mind permanently to our country and had our time in service cut short because of it, we should qualify under special circumstances.
